I've been wanting to create new content for my website for a while now. Don't get me wrong, I loved my old images on my front page, but I felt like they needed updating. The hair wasn't quite my style anymore and I created them when I wasn't really offering hair as a service.
So I contacted Olivia Bossert and asked if she'd be up for shooting these for me. Of course, she said yes. We booked Jessie Berryman for the model. You'll probably recognise Jessie from my instagram and website as Olivia and I have booked her a few times for various shoots. You can see why! Jessie is beautiful.
As these images were more beauty shots, we decided to keep the whole shoot quite simple and casual. Olivia has so many white dresses so we used those instead of borrowing real wedding dresses. I think Olivia and Jessie did an amazing job!
I like to think my style isn't your average traditional bride, it's more relaxed, flowy and natural. Boho!
Scroll down to see the rest of the shoot. I hope you love them as much as I do.
For the first look I created a big bouncy curl and added some volume with my crimpers. I kept the makeup very natural and glowy. Jessie has amazing long lashes but I added a few individual ones to thicken them up. These are the lashes I would use on a wedding day. I tend to stay away from strip lashes as weddings are very long days so there's no guarantee that the inner corners won't become unstuck, especially if there's been a few happy tears.
For the second look I brushed through the curls so they became more wavy rather than bouncy curls. I created a fishtail braid on one side, bringing all the waves to one side. I kept the makeup the same except I added a bright red lip. This look was finished with a statement earring.
For the third look I pulled all the hair back into a low pony tail with a bit of volume and texture. I removed the red lip, applied a pink gloss and added a little bit more definition to the eyes.
For the fourth look I created a up do with two chunky plaits but leaving little wispy bit at the front to frame the face. I didn't change the makeup a lot, I added a bit more bronze on the face and a little more definition on the eyes.
The fifth look I took the plaits out and created a low, slightly sleeker bun. and left it super relaxed around the face. For the makeup I added some eyeshadow to the bottom lash line to create a smokier look.
For the final look I only changed the hair. I created another up do. I plaited one side and made a chunky loose bun at the back. I then added a flower piece to create a romantic boho look.
